Substitute Assignment

This picture reflects the numerous layers of adding and subtracting. Mr. Wertz taught me the impotance of taking away (subtracting) really brings out a louder message than a filled out image of a coffee cup would ever bring. The emptiness of liquid and color in this picture speaks the image of need for more.

Assignment 1: Progression

It currently looks extremely undeveloped because I've started the "Jim Dine" process. The bottom right corner is being primed white so I can use charcoal to create the coffee cup I faded and shaded together in my sketchbook.
